Musicians pay homage to Notre Dame on 1st fire anniversary

It is the official choir for the cathedral and its members, like everyone in France, are confined at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. Restoration works of Notre Dame have been stopped due to the national lockdown imposed to fight the spread of coronavirus.

Musicians pay homage to Notre Dame on fire anniversary

Paris: A group of fifty musicians, singers and instrumentalists paid homage on Wednesday to Notre Dame on the first anniversary of the fire that ravaged the Paris cathedral.

Performing from their homes, the musicians created a tribute video they called 'For Notre Dame' which shows them performing a 'Ruht Wohl' by Johann Sebastian Bach.

During the montage, various photos from Notre Dame have formed the centre of the video.

Each of the musicians has, at one point, performed inside Notre Dame.

A separate video performance was made by the Notre Dame choir referred to as La Maitrise de Notre Dame de Paris.

This is the official choir for the cathedral and its members, like everyone in France, are confined at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The choir released a video montage, produced over several days, of its singers performing 'The Lord is my Shepherd', from British composer Howard Goodall.

A year after the fire that devastated part of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, restoration works have been stopped due to the national lockdown imposed to fight the spread of coronavirus.

In April 2019, the fire destroyed part of the cathedral's interiors and caused the fall of its famous spire.
