Macron says no deal Brexit looking likely

Europe stood in unity and solidarity with Ireland as uncertainty over Britain's departure from the bloc continued, said French President Emmanuel Macron. He said Europe couldn't continue to be "held hostage" by the political crisis in Britain.

Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that Europe stood in unity and solidarity with Ireland as uncertainty over Britain's departure from the bloc continued.

At a joint news conference with visiting Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, Macron said the British Parliament's three-time rejection of the withdrawal agreement and other alternatives put to votes at the House of Commons, signalled a no deal Brexit.

He said Europe couldn't continue to be "held hostage" by the political crisis in Britain.
