Pakistan summons Indian Deputy HC over ceasefire violations

Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia, the third time in five days, to protest against "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by Indian forces along the LoC.

Foreign Office spokesperson, Mohammed Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner on Thursday, and before that on July 28 and 30.

He said that the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) and international boundary "have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with heavy mortars and automatic weapons which still continues".

He added that on July 28, the ceasefire violations in Nezapir Sector led to the killing of a woman, while three civilians were injured.

On July 30, one Indian army jawan was martyred in ceasefire violations and on LoC and two Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory firing.
