Karachi: Pakistan customs destroyed a huge quantity of liquor, heroin, contraband chemicals and counterfeit cigarettes worth 3 billion rupees (21,186,440 US Dollars) in international markets Thursday in the port city of Karachi.
"The seizure of Acetic Anhydride is probably the largest seizure of its kind in the world," Dr Fareed Qureshi of Pakistan Customs Service said.
According to Qureshi, it's not only important seizures for Pakistan but for the entire global community.
In total, 21,700 kilograms of narcotics precursor (Acetic Anhydride) was destroyed.

Other destroyed substances included 8,752 kilograms of narcotics substances, 58,784 containers of liquor, 1,164,000 counterfeit cigarettes, 8,520,704 pouches of chewable tobacco, 577 tonnes of beetle nuts and 2,000 kilograms of miscellaneous goods that included expired foodstuffs, medicines and banned goods.
