Ankara: A boat carrying 40 migrants was heading towards Greece sank off Turkey's western coast on Monday. After this incident 31 were found safe by the coast guard and eight died.
Coast guards launched search and rescue operations in order to reach out to the passengers of the boat.
The rescue operation involved two coast guard boats, a helicopter and a team of divers who are looking for the missing ninth migrant.
The coast guard said that eight bodies were found inside the wreck of the boat at a depth of 32 metres.
