Hyderabad: The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 29,94,958 and killed over 2,06,997 people across the world. More than 8,78,923 people have recovered so far.
China said on Sunday morning that it had confirmed 11 more cases of the new coronavirus the previous day, bringing its official count to 82,827. However, there were no reported deaths for the 11th day in a row. China said it also has 1,000 people who have tested positive for the coronavirus but do not have any symptoms. They are under medical observation but not included in the confirmed case count.
Britain is the fourth European country after Italy, Spain, and France to reach 20,000 deaths. The United States has recorded more than 50,000 coronavirus fatalities.
The virus spreads by microscopic droplets from coughs or sneezes.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.
For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness including pneumonia and death. The vast majority of people recover.
