Hyderabad: The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 37,475,839 and killed over 10,77,594 people across the world. More than 28,117,060 people have recovered so far.
Brazil’s count of COVID-19 deaths surpassed 150,000 on Saturday night, despite signs the pandemic is slowly retreating in Latin America’s largest nation.
The Brazilian Health Ministry reported that the death toll now stands at 150,198. The figure is the world’s second-highest behind the United States, according to the tally maintained by Johns Hopkins University.
India’s confirmed coronavirus cases are nearing 7 million with another 73,272 reported in the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry on Saturday also reported 926 additional deaths, taking total fatalities to 107,416. The deaths have remained below 1,000 for the seventh straight day.

India is seeing a slower pace of coronavirus spread since mid-September when the daily infections touched a record of 97,894 cases. It’s averaging more than 70,000 cases daily so far this month, while the recovery rate has exceeded 85%.
Another 15,166 people in Britain have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 590,844, according to official figures released on Saturday.
The coronavirus-related deaths rose by 81 to 42,760, the data showed.
The Chinese mainland reported 21 new imported Covid-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 3,008, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.
Of the new imported cases, 10 were reported in Shanghai, six in Guangdong, three in Sichuan, and one each in Liaoning and Fujian, the commission said, Xinhua news agency reported.
