Hyderabad: In a shocking revelation, China is separating Muslim children from their families, belief and language in Xinjiang province.
According to BBC, China has detained hundreds of thousands of youths at various detention centers and building giant boarding schools across its western region.
A report prepared from available documents and number of interviews, it is found that over 400 children in a township lost their parents due to internment at various detention camps or prison.
"I have no whereabouts of my children and do not know who is looking after them. There is no contact with them at all," said one mother.
With tears rolling down the cheek another heart-broken mother, holding a photo of three sons and a daughter, said, "I heard that they've been taken to an orphanage."
The Muslims whom China has detained are Uyghurs, the Turkick speaking people of country's Xinjiang province. There are an estimated 11 million Uyghurs in China.
Beijing recently had face global criticism for its move of mass arresting Uyghurs Muslims and other ethnic minorities residing in Xinjiang. Over dozen countries including the US, Australia, Germany have condemned the move and asked China to release them.
However, China defended and said it had made a remarkable progress in the last four decades by lifting hundreds of thousands out of poverty. These re-education camps aims at providing vocational training that Uyghurs are willing to attend.

China said the Uyghurs have been arrested as a preventive measure against terrorism and are being re-educated in Chinese state philosophy. They are asked to renounce their religion, beliefs and practice.
