"My understanding is it's a very complicated case something we're certainly looking into but that they made the best possible decision and deal they could have gotten at that time. But again that's something we're looking into. We'll keep you posted as we have something more."

"The president's going to leave that decision up to the attorney general. Just because he hasn't made that call, he's following the proper process. If he did it the other way you guys would go crazy say I can't believe the president's done this. I mean I think it's such a double standard. He's following the process and we'll see what happens.

" We think the public should have moved on a long time ago in fact I think the public did move on a long time ago. I think the only people that are still hung up on it are Democrats and the media."

"It's real simple to me the president far and away was the better candidate. He had a better message and he outworked Hillary Clinton. That's why he's president. He didn't need to, nor did he collude with the Russians. Pretty simple."

"Look I think we're always prepared for a number of things that come at us. But right now our focus is not on the Mueller report, but it's on doing our jobs. It's on focusing on the things that Americans care about. Right now it's focusing on preparing for the meetings that will take place next week and looking forward to having a great trip."

"I certainly don't think that the president at any point has done anything but condemn violence against journalists or anyone else in fact every single time something like this happens. The president is typically one of the first people to condemn the violence, and the media is the first people to blame the president. We should all join together and start condemning the violence whether it's against members of the media, whether it's against Democrats or Republicans any person in this country that is unacceptable and that's why every time it comes up we have been consistent, and repeatedly said that we condemn violence in all forms."

STORYLINE:
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the White House "is looking" at a federal judicial ruling that could cast a shadow over Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta.
Acosta was a U.S. attorney in Miami in 2008 when federal prosecutors reached a non-prosecution agreement with wealthy financier Jeffrey Espstein, who was accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marry said his in decision that that victims of financier Jeffrey Epstein should have been consulted under federal law about the deal.
Marra stopped short of invalidating the non-prosecution agreement but asked prosecutors and victims' lawyers to recommend in 15 days how to move forward.
"My understanding is it's a very complicated case, something we're certainly looking into," Sanders said Friday morning.
Epstein, now 66, reached the deal in 2008 with then-Miami U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta's office to end the federal probe that could have landed him in prison for life.
Epstein instead pleaded guilty to lesser state charges, spent 13 months in jail, paid financial settlements to victims and is a registered sex offender.
Sanders also defended President Donald Trump's decision to allow newly-confirmed Attorney General William Barr discretion to handle the special counsel's report on the Russia probe in the way he chooses.
And she defended the president over the question of whether his rhetoric is promoting violence.
The question came up after a Coast Guard officer suspected of drawing up a hit list of top Democrats and network TV journalists was arrested and held without bail while prosecutors seek to gather additional evidence about whether he planned to carry out a domestic terror plot.
