Jiangxi: At least six people have been killed and one person is missing after heavy rain triggered floods in southeastern China, local authorities said on Sunday.
More than 100 houses have been destroyed in Jiangxi Province, according to officials from the regional emergency management department.
As per reports, 88,000 people have been evacuated from the area following strong winds, hail and floods.
Disaster relief supplies, including cotton quilts and bamboo mats, have been distributed by authorities to the affected residents.
According to information direct economic losses are estimated at 1.59 billion yuan (230 million US dollars).
The regional meteorological bureau activated an emergency response on Friday and forecast the heavy rain will continue until the middle of the week.
