New York: Three people including a four-year-old child were shot Saturday afternoon in New York City's busy Times Square and police were looking for the gunman, authorities said.
The victims were taken to a hospital after being shot shortly before 5 p.m. near the intersection of West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, according to a police spokesperson.
They are believed to be unintended targets of the shooter and are not related to each other.
After apparently being involved in a "dispute", the shooter fled the scene and is being sought by police.
NYPD commissioner Dermot Shea said that he was "very concerned about the proliferation of guns, not only in this incident but throughout New York City".
