Santiago: Marches and protests were held Friday across the Latin American countries to mark International Women's Day.
The day, sponsored by the United Nations since 1975, celebrates women's achievements and aims to further their rights.
Millions around the world demanded equality amid a persistent salary gap, violence and widespread inequality.
Hundreds of women in Chile's capital Santiago wearing body paint chanted "down with the patriarchy that will fall."
Thousands took part in the march that denounced the role of religion in society.
"We are tired that we cannot make choices over our bodies, we are tired of not having the same salaries as men," said marcher, Natalia Ramirez.
