Rome: Italy has reported 475 new coronaviru deaths, highest one-day toll of any nation on Wednesday. The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 2,07,000 people and killed more than 8,200 worldwide.
The COVID-19 illness causes mild or moderate symptoms in most people, but severe symptoms are more likely in the elderly or those with existing health problems. More than 82,000 people have recovered so far, mostly in China.

Total deaths in Italy have reached 2,978, more than half of all the cases recorded outside China, while the number of infections reached 35,713.
The previous record high of 368 deaths was also recorded in Italy, on Sunday.
