Washington: A blast of winter weather hit Washington, D.C. early Wednesday, with wet snow closing federal offices and local schools, disrupting air travel, and making roads hazardous for motorists.
Tourists, however, took the wintry mix in stride.
"It's pretty good. It's almost just like home seeing all this snow, really," said Rylee Maxwell, who is visiting Toronto.
"Today, we came prepared to walk," said Dorothy Griesbach, who is visiting with her husband and grandchildren from Long Island.
"So we came with all our, all our gear," she said
