Ciudad Hidalgo (Mexico): In search of a better life, as many as 400 Central American migrants have crossed into Mexico on Tuesday with the aim of reaching US border to seek asylum.
Mexican Police looked on as nearly half of them crossed bordering Suchiate river on inner tube rafts.
"At least 500 people have entered, this is what I was told now. And I was also told that another caravan of over 1000 people are now at the border, they are trying to get their credentials in order to be able to cross (into Mexico) and continue following the dream that we are all seeking, which is to reach the United States. It is the dream that everybody wants to help their family", Jose Mario Alexander Martínez, a Honduran migrant said.
The group of migrants include many women and children.
Honduran migrants went into the main plaza of Ciudad Hidalgo to rest and other migrants walked over the bridge connecting Mexico and Guatemala and waited to register at a Mexican immigration office.
