Hyderabad: Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor's fans are excited about a sequel to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which stars the popular stars essaying the role of on-screen lovers Naina and Bunny, respectively. Ranbir Kapoor, who played Bunny in the film, reportedly revealed that a sequel may take place ten years after the original film, and that writer-director Ayan Mukerji had a decent story idea for it.
Naina and Bunny are undeniably one of the most memorable on-screen couples. At the movie's climax, love triumphed over them after a lot of fun, emotions, tears, and distance. They eventually fall in love and decide to marry. Fans, however, are curious about what will happen next with the trio and their partners, and many have their own theories.
In a recent virtual talk, when asked which of his films, other than Brahmastra, he wishes to shoot a sequel to, Ranbir Kapoor replied that the film Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani would make a wonderful sequel. "Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey," the Rockstar actor continued. Never, however, say never.
"He might make it in a couple of years," he said. Ranbir hinted that the tale could take place ten years after the events of the first film. "I believe the story will be set ten years in the future, where Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi are in their lives. I think it'll be fun to learn more about those characters," he added.
For the uninitiated, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani- whenever we think of or watch this film, the crazy friend group comes to mind. From a realistic plotline and foot-tapping melodies to outstanding characters, this film has offered our generation a lot.
In the meantime, Ranbir will be seen next in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, with Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. Animal will be released in theatres on August 11, 2023.
