Pamela Chopra, wife of filmmaker Yash Chopra, dies at age 74. She was a playback singer, film writer, and producer who was affectionately known as Pam Aunty. She last appeared in The Romantics on Netflix.

Hyderabad: Pamela Chopra, the wife of the late Yash Chopra, passed away early on Thursday at the age of 74. She lived in Mumbai with her elder son Aditya Chopra and daughter-in-law Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji. She reportedly died from an illness due to her old age.

Pamela Chopra recently faced the camera to talk about her relationship with Bollywood's biggest director and her husband Yash Chopra. She talked about how it was when he was just starting out as a filmmaker. She went on to discuss her husband's career as a director during her appearance in The Romantics.

She also provided insight into how Yash Chopra produced films despite having a difficult box office run in his early days. Pamela, and her sons Aditya and Uday discussed how they founded their own production company, which is now among the biggest in the nation. Pamela, a well-known playback singer, advanced to become Yash Chopra's support system. She has also been given producer credit for a number of successful films that Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra, and their production house created.

Yash and Pamela had two sons, Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra, after getting married in 1970. For the previous 15 days, Pamela was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. The doctors put her on a ventilator, but her condition continued to worsen. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made public by the family.

Pamela lent her voice to many of her husband's films, including Kabhie Kabhie, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, and others. She even worked independently to produce films. She collaborated on the Dil To Pagal Hai script with Tanuja Chandra and her husband Yash Chopra, and elder son Aditya Chopra. Pamela also made an appearance in the movie Dil To Pagal Hai's opening song, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste.
