Security tightened for polls at Hazaribagh constituency in J'khand

Authorities tighten security to conduct the incident-free Lok Sabha elections in Hazaribagh constituency. SP Mayur Patel said that they have deployed 40 companies of paramilitary forces, in addition to the regular police. The Hazaribagh Constituency is considered as the most communally sensitive and Naxal affected in the state.

Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): Hazaribagh, which is considered to be the most communally sensitive constituency, is going to polls on the 6th of May.

This constituency is not only communally sensitive but also is badly affected by Naxalism.

According to the police, these two factors have resulted in the authorities deploying more than 40 companies of paramilitary forces in the region, apart from the regular officials.

Talking to the media, SP Mayur Patel said, "Our main motto is to ensure that the people to come out confidently and vote. We have identified the most vulnerable areas such as Chatra, Bokaro and Gaya borders, where we have deployed quick responses teams. We have also activated our surveillance team and flying squad alongside activating the intelligence mechanism."

The state has witnessed one phase of polling on April 29, while remaining three will be scheduled on May 6, 12 and 23.
