Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a case was registered against a teacher under the POSCO act for marrying a minor boy of the school in which she was teaching. The incident was reported in the Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu. On learning about their marriage, the parents of the boy lodged a complaint with the police. Based on their complaint, the Ariyalur police arrested the teacher.
According to police, a 17-year-old boy, who hails from Mazhavaraayanalluur village, a student of Class X fell in love with his teacher, who belongs to the Ambapoor village, and they decided to get married, but it was opposed by their parents and relatives as the boy is younger than the woman. Bu,t the enter into wedlock at a temple.
When their parents and relatives opposed their marriage, they attempted suicide. Fortunately, they were saved and admitted to a hospital by the neighbours where they are reportedly recovering.
