Rewa: Children homes are not so much 'home' to the little ones in Madhya Pradesh. A revelation made during counselling of children adopted from Rewa's private organisation Nivedita Kalyan Samiti has brought shame upon the country.
The American counsellor conveyed the disgraceful piece of info to the Government of India following which Rewa SP has constituted an investigation team to probe the matter.
This is how the case was exposed
Clinton and Amanda, residents of the United States had four months ago adopted minor children from Rewa's private organisation Nivedita Kalyan Samiti. As per the law there, the children were first taken to Children's Home Agency for post replacement reporting. During counselling, the juveniles revealed that they had been sexually abused in the children home in Madhya Pradesh.
The news stirred the government
The counsellor then immediately informed the new parents of the kids along with sending the information to the government of India. As the Indian government received the information, there was an uproar among the officials. The Madhya Pradesh' government was informed about this without any further ado.
The Directorate of Women and Child Development has taken the matter seriously and sought an action in the case from Rewa Collector.
Investigation team formed
Rewa Police has formed an investigation team in connection to the case and the probe is underway. Nivedita Kalyan Samiti's license has been revoked and all the children living there have been shifted to the nearest Matra Chhaya childcare home in Satna.
