Mumbai (Maharashtra): A Mumbai model has accused actress Shilpa Shetty's spouse and businessman, Raj Kundra, of having demanded 'nude audition' along with two others. An undated video of the model making the allegations had surfaced on social media, soon after Kundra and Ryan Thorpe, the IT head of Kundra's company, Viaan Industries were apprehended in connection with a pornography racket. The duo were produced by the police in Mumbai's Esplanade Court on Monday and sent to Judicial remand till Friday.
In the viral video, the model is heard saying that she was working in the industry for around 3-4 years now and hasn't done much work, added that she wanted to share some incidents that happened to her during the lockdown. "During last Covid wave, I got a call for audition, and I was asked to give a nude audition via video call. I was shocked to hear and immediately refused. Last time I had held a press conference and had even demanded their arrest. Now, Raj Kundra has been arrested. I got the call through Umesh Kamat who had offered me a web series, which was produced by Raj Kundra. When I asked him (Umesh Kamat) about Raj Kundra, he told me that he is Shilpa Shetty's husband," the model is heard saying in the video.

The Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday night arrested businessman and Bollywood actor Shilpa's Shetty's husband Raj Kundra for creating pornographic content and later uploading them on a mobile application, in association with a UK based firm. According to Mumbai Police, ten other people have also been arrested, including Kundra who appears to be the key conspirator in the case. "We have sufficient evidence against Kundra," a police official had said.
Kundra was booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, he added. Further investigation is in progress. A case against Kundra was registered in February at the Malwani police station in suburban Mumbai after a woman had approached the police and made certain allegations in her complaint.
