IAF airlifts two empty oxygen tankers from Jodhpur to Jamnagar for refilling

As India fights the second wave of Covid, there has been an unprecedented demand for oxygen following an increase in the infection rate. In this hour of crisis, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has come forward to airlift liquid oxygen tankers for refilling and speed up distribution.

Jodhpur (Rajasthan): The Indian Air Force's C-17 heavy-lift transport aircraft today airlifted two liquid oxygen tankers to Jamnagar in Gujarat from the Jodhpur Air Base in Rajasthan.

In order to meet the increasing demand for oxygen in Jodhpur's hospitals, the central government has allocated a 30 to 40-kilolitres of oxygen quota from Jamnagar, Gujarat.

For this, the massive military aircraft reached Jodhpur on Saturday morning.

As per sources, the tankers once refilled will return to Jodhpur from Jamnagar by road, however, in case of any delay, the tankers would be airlifted.
