Hubli: Raghavendra Mutalik Desai from Vijaynagar of Hubli city, is making lives easier for people by providing them hand stitched khadi masks.
Already, over 2 lakh khadi masks have been sold in Karnataka and neighbouring states. Desai who sells the masks at affordable rates said that there has been an increasing demand for khadi masks due to the corona second wave.

He says that he enjoys making these masks as they save peoples lives and at the same time fulfils the economic needs of his family. Raghavendra's wife and his two children are also busy making khadi masks.
Eight variants of surgical coloured masks are prepared and they cost between Rs 8- 10 for one mask, Desai says, adding that the price depends based on the mask quality and that different companies in the market are charging Rs 35-40 for the same.

He says that their masks can also be used by doctors, are eco-friendly and that these khadi masks have been distributed to the railway department workers, police department personnel and to the workers of various unions.
Desai who worked as the Director of RK Khadi began making hand-stitched masks with the help of his family members at his residence during the Covid lockdown.
