New Delhi/Ghaziabad: There is increased concern over the rise in Covid-19 related cases in villages and in rural areas.
In Nahal village of Ghaziabad, which has a population of more than 40,000 people, over 100 deaths have occurred in a span of 30 days. According to the people of the village, every day there have been five deaths, sometimes 8 or even 10 deaths.

According to some villagers, most of the people who died showed signs of mild fever. They said the situation worsened after the Panchayat elections.
The local Haji Tayyab said that the situation in the village is now normal, but in the last one month, a lot of people had died in the village. Nearly 150 people have died in the village, he added.
Fazer Mohammad, the former head of Nahal village blamed the administration for not doing enough tests.
