New Delhi: A special session for women at the Kisan Sansad (Farmer Parliament) was organized on Monday running parallel to the country's Parliament at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Women farmers say that the Essential Commodities Act will directly affect them as it is also related to rising inflation. Also, this law will also end the ration distribution system in future. ETV Bharat held a special conversation with Suhasini Ali, leader of All India Kisan Sabha, regarding the topics discussed in the Women's Parliament and the resolutions passed.
Suhasini Ali says discussions were held mainly on the three agricultural laws and the ongoing movement against it, but the main point of discussion was the rising inflation and the matter of abolishing the Essential Commodities Act. Women have gathered information on this in depth and even debated about the disadvantages of the Act. "The message is that if women are given the opportunity, they can do any work. There is no place for women in the Parliament of the country and there are only 8 to 10 percent women MPs. Today, a resolution has been passed in the women's parliament that the 33% reservation bill should be brought soon and the participation of women should be ensured in the country's parliament. If people will come here or see through the media then they will definitely understand what democracy really is," Suhasini Ali said.

Expressing her views on the ongoing proceedings and uproar in the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Suhasini said that today people are not being given a chance to express their views or protest in the Parliament of the country. On raising their voice, the Speaker throws out the MPs and the government is unable to answer properly on any issue. The government should give an explanation on the Pegasus spyware issue. Similarly, on the issue of three agricultural laws also the government does not respond. The government only speaks its word and words like Mawali, anti-national, Khalistani are used against the agitating farmers.
For the first time, women farmers independently organised the parliament 'Kisan Sansad' at Jantar Manta, wherein questions related to the three contentious farm laws were raised and discussed in detail. Farmers' protest against the controversial farm laws began on November 26, 2020. Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farms Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 have been widely contended.
