New Delhi: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday tweeted that he would hoist black flags at both his residences in Amritsar and Patiala, in support of the farmers' protest.
"Will hoist the Black Flag in support of #FarmersProtest at both my houses (Amritsar & Patiala) 9:30 AM tomorrow ... Request everyone to do the same, until we have either repealed the #BlackLaws or provide an alternative method of assured MSP & procurement through State Government," Sidhu tweeted.

It is known that the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) had decided to observe a 'black day' on May 26 to mark six months of protests by farmers against the new agriculture laws introduced by the Indian government.
SKM had requested farmers across the nation to gather at the Delhi border to strengthen the protest on Wednesday. The SKM is a coalition of over forty Indian farmers' unions formed to coordinate the satyagraha against the three farm acts initiated in September 2020.

The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha had also appealed to PM Modi to resume talks with the farmers in a bid to resolve the issue.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also complete his seventh year in office.

Aam Aadmi Party Punjab co-in-charge Raghav Chadha issued a statement on Sunday, saying that their party convenor Arvind Kejriwal and all activists are supporting the farmers. AAP also took a dig at the BJP government saying it is sleeping like 'Kumbhakarna' when farmers were struggling.
BJP govt at the Centre adopting a dictatorial attitude: Kisan Khet Mazdoor Union leader
A farmer leader of Kisan Khet Mazdoor Union, Saravan Singh said that the BJP government at the Center is adopting a dictatorial attitude and that they will go to every village on May 28 and 29 to make farmers aware and effigies will be burnt on May 26 across the country.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, the head of the Shiromani Akali Dal, supporting the farmers' protest said that he and his party will always stand for the welfare of farmers.
