The meeting emphasized the time-bound implementation of the Covid-19 outreach programme, all across the country, which aims to cover approx. 3 crore households in 30 days, thereby touching approximately 12 crore people (at an average of 4 members per family), covering 7199 blocks and 7935 towns in 736 districts of the country. The total expected feet on the ground would be 1,51,340 Congress workers at the peak of the campaign.

During her opening remarks, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, "At the national level, the daily rate of vaccination has to treble so that 75% of our population gets fully vaccinated by end of this year. We must continue to put pressure on the Union government which has, at our Party’s insistence, finally taken on the responsibility for this. At the same time, we have to ensure that registration takes place, that vaccine hesitancy wherever evident is overcome and vaccine wastage is minimised."

She further added, "Experts are already talking of a possible third wave a few months from now. Some of them have been pointing to the vulnerability of children in the coming months. This too requires our urgent attention and we must take proactive measures so that they are spared this calamity. We have to take steps to be better prepared if and when this strikes."

Asserting that the increase in the wholesale price index in May 2021 has been 12.94%, the highest in the last 11 years, Congress Party decided to launch nationwide agitation programs at Block, District and State levels implemented by the State units between 7th to 17th of July. Under this, Congress will launch countrywide agitation of women involving Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and other Frontals at the Block level. After that Congress Party leaders and workers would take out Cycle Yatra at district levels.

Also, the Congress Party leaders and workers will take out marches and processions at the state level. A signature campaign will be run at all petrol pumps across the country demanding reduction of prices of petrol and diesel. "Through these programs, the party aims to build a mass movement, which would pressurise the BJP government to roll back the excessive excise on fuel and gas and provide relief to already suffering consumers in the times of pandemic, economic slowdown and unprecedented unemployment," said the official statement of Congress.
