MK Stalin condemns torching of former TN CM Annadurai's statue

DMK Chief MK Stalin condemned the torching of former TN CM Annadurai's statue at Sankarapuram of Kallakurichi district in Tamil Nadu by unidentified persons. He tweeted in Tamil saying that the public will punish those who are trying to create unrest in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu): A statue of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) founder and former Tamil Nadu CM Annadurai was set ablaze at Sankarapuram of Kallakurichi district in Tamil Nadu by unidentified persons.

Reacting to the incident, DMK chief MK Stalin took to his official Twitter handle and condemned the incident.

"The burning of Anna statue is condemnable. People will punish those who are all out to create unrest in Tamil Nadu. Thanthai Periyar, Anna, MGR statues are continuously being vandalized. Submissive stand of the CM is shameful," Stalin had tweeted in Tamil.

Police have lodged a case regarding the incident and the miscreants are yet to be nabbed.

Elections in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 6 and the results are expected on May 2.
