Haryana: High-tension power lines a nightmare for Kaithal residents

High-tension electricity wires passing overhead in Kaithal district in Haryana are posing a grave danger to the lives of people. The residents in the area have been living under a constant threat of electrocution as high-tension electric wires pass over the rooftops of their houses and workplaces.

Kaithal: Residents of Kaithal district in Haryana face threat to their lives from high-tension power lines that pass overhead in almost all colonies of the areas. Locals have been living in constant fear of electrocution for the past many years.

In a recent incident, high tension wires of 33,000 volts passing over the residence of Sanjay and Kelo Devi resulted in an electric explosion, that led to the damage of many electrical appliances in the area.

Cases involving deaths of humans and cattle have occurred in the past due to electrocution.

The locals say that they have many a time taken the matter to the CM and other higher officials. However, no action has been taken yet.

Though authorities claim that they are working to remove the wires, results are still not visible.

In another incident, two reporters were killed after being electrocuted by these power lines.
