Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has hit the headlines this time not for a slam dunk on a basketball court, instead for dancing at a wedding event, the video of which has now gone viral. As per reports, the video of the MP dancing was shot in her bungalow, when she had organised the marriage ceremony of both the daughters of Narmada Prasad, a poor resident of Rampura.
Narmada Prasad had sought the help of MP Pragya Singh Thakur to get his daughters Chanchal and Sandhya married as he faced financial difficulties. Following this, the BJP MP had assured Prasad that their marriage would be organised in her bungalow. Later, Prasad had got the alliance of his daughters fixed from Nanu Kheda village in Ujjain.

Reacting to the viral video, Narendra Saluja, the spokesperson of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee took a dig at Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur by tweeting, "Whenever we see the Bhopal MP, sister Pragya Thakur, play basketball and walking without support or dancing happily like this, it makes us happy...?" Earlier too, when Pragya was seen playing basketball, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson had tweeted, "Saw the BJP MP of Bhopal Sadhvi Thakur on a wheelchair till now but today it was a great pleasure to see her trying her hand at basketball in a stadium in Bhopal. So far, it was known that due to some injury she could not stand and walk properly…? May God keep her healthy always."
Pragya Singh Thakur had contested the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 2019, from Bhopal, and was pitted against Congress' veteran Digvijay Singh, whom she had defeated in her first attempt. Sadhvi had stoked controversies with her statements, is one among the seven accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts and is currently out on bail. It is known that Sadhvi Pragya had been in jail for 9 years prior to getting bail in 2017. Around, 6 people were killed and over 100 others were injured when an explosive-laden motorcycle exploded near a mosque in Malegaon, about 200 km from Mumbai in northern Maharashtra. The investigating agency NIA had said that the bike containing the explosives allegedly belonged to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. However, the Bhopal MP had made it clear that she had sold the bike prior to the incident.
