Hyderabad: Satya Narayana Nadella needs no introduction. As Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft he has rewritten business rules and took Microsoft to greater heights. He was picked out of hundreds, possibly thousands of top level executives. It's only appropriate to peep into what takes it to be Satya Nadella.
In his book Hit Fresh, Nadella shared his objectives to reach the goal as the top boss. Drive to achieve high standards, confidence and not the least falling in love with what you do will surely land you in your dream job.
Be a lifelong learner: Satya Nadella believes that an individual, book or an online course teaches a lot. "I get energised when I see people achieving high standards in anything. Something that I have not seen before, gets me going."
Have Confidence: All great things happen only when you have self-belief and confidence. According to Nadella, "There is a fine line between confidence and Hubris and I like to be on the side of confidence."
Fall in love with what you do: If you are just passionate about what you do/want it doesn't feel like work. It is perhaps the best way to find meaning in what you do, says Microsoft CEO.
Have work-life Harmony: It is very essential to have a life-work harmony. We spend far too much time at work and there should be a sense of purpose. Nadella said, "I have spent 24 years at Microsoft, for it to just work and not to have deep meaning would be a real waste."
Have a clear vision: One must have a very clear vision of what they want to achieve and stay true to that. Satya Nadella says that he doesn't want to be in every part of the tech industry but only in sectors where Microsoft can make a unique contribution. The sense of purpose and identity is essential to succeed, he added.
