Kolkata: In a bid to capture the market, Reliance Industries Limited has come up with yet another 'disruptive' product which some speculate, might prove detrimental to the already doddering single-screen theaters across the city.

Navin Chowkhani, the owner of one of the standalone theaters, Navina, sees as no threat in this, rather he feels that the halls should keep up with the changing time. Theaters should upgrade themselves so that the audience keep coming back for more.

Arijit Dutta, owner of Priya Entertainment Limited said that there is a lot of difference in watching films at home and in theaters.

He said, "Previously people used to buy CDs and counterfeit DVDs. Some people indulge in watching pirated contents. So with every passing day there will be new challenges because we cannot stop the advancement of technology. Hence we have to rise to such a level that we can hold back our customers."

Experts feel that the entertainment factor plays a crucial role in creating a new business that can attract new customers, retain existing ones and deliver more than before.
