New Delhi: Hero Electric on Monday launched two new e-scooters Optima ER and Nyx ER (extended range) priced at Rs 68,721 and Rs 69,754 (ex-showroom India), respectively.

The new heavy-duty and high-speed e-scooters are now available across all Hero Electric dealerships, the company said in a statement.

"One feedback that we have constantly received was the range anxiety associated with e-scooters, and with the Nyx ER and Optima ER we are addressing that issue and offering a package that is high on performance and usability," Hero Electric India CEO Sohinder Gill said.

He further said the FAME-II benefits have also made the company's e-scooter range more affordable.

With the launch of Nyx ER, the company has extensive plans to introduce heavy-duty products catering to myriad requirements of the B2B sector thereby expanding its offerings for the commercial segment, Hero Electric said.

The company said it has also opened its new corporate office in Bengaluru as part of its expansion plan in southern India to diversify its operations and strategically plan the new consumer touch points in the country.

It aims to have 1,000 touch points by the end of 2020, up from 615 at present. It also plans to increase its production capacity to 5 lakh units annually in the next three years. It is looking at around 1 lakh units this year.
