Trump's Day-2: Its all about trade and business with India

India and the US on Tuesday inked three MoUs, including one in energy sector, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the two countries have decided to take Indo-US ties to comprehensive global partnership level.

New Delhi: India and the United States inked three MoUs on Tuesday and also agreed to conclude mega trade deal during the two day visit of President Donald Trump.

In his brief remarks at the start of official talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the US president and thanked him for taking time out for the visit to India.

President Trump, in turn, said the last two days in India were amazing, especially the event at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad.

After the official talks, Prime Minister Modi said that they have discussed every important aspect of US-India partnership, be it defence and security, energy strategic partnership, trade or people to people ties. The strengthening in defence ties between India and US is an important aspect of our partnership.

India and the US inked three MoUs, including one in energy sector, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the two countries have decided to take Indo-US ties to comprehensive global partnership level.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on mental health between the health departments of the countries.

Another memorandum of understanding on the safety of medical products was signed between the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization with the US Food and Drug Administration.

A letter of cooperation was signed between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Exxon Mobil India LNG Limited and Chart Industries Inc, US.

  • Focus was forging bilateral economic relationships that is fair and reciprocal
  • The US international development finance cooperation will be establishing a permanent presence
  • US exports to India are up nearly 60% & exports of high quality American energy have grown by 500%.
