New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of 'One Nation, One Election' during the all-party meeting held on Wednesday in the Parliament.
While speaking to the media after attending the meet, Patnaik said, "I fully support Prime Minister's idea of 'One Nation, One Election', which speaks of conducting Parliamentary and Assembly elections simultaneously. BJD has always been supportive of whatever is being done in the interest of the country and its people."
"In connection with celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we consider including the word 'non-violence' and 'Ahimsa' in the Preamble of India's constitution," Patnaik added.
During the meeting, he also mentioned about his long-standing demand of giving 'special category' status to Odisha. Along with this, he also suggested that women’s reservation should be implemented in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
