New Delhi: In between the electoral atmosphere in New Delhi, there was firing outside the residence of vice-president of Congress party, Firoz Gazi, in Mehrauli district of Ambedkar Nagar on Sunday night.
Three masked gunmen fired 6 to 7 rounds and fled from there. The CCTV footage recovered from the spot shows two men with covered faces roaming outside Gazi's residence. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. However, the reason for this attack is yet to be ascertained.
When asked about the attack, Congress leader said, "At around 10 am on Sunday night, two masked men came on a bike and started firing indiscriminately at my house."
"The station house officer is very supportive. He has said that he will solve the matter in a day or two," Gazi added. The cartridges have also been recovered from the spot. No injuries have been reported so far.
Police are investigating the matter from all possible angles.
