Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa was manhandled by protesters in Mukherjee Nagar during a protest against the thrashing of auto driver Sarabjeet Singh and his son by police. Earlier, a video of a brawl between the tempo driver and policemen went viral on social media.

New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa was manhandled by protesters in Mukherjee Nagar area of the national capital on Monday night.

The protesters, mainly from the Sikh community gathered outside Mukherjee Nagar police station demanding the suspension of all policemen who thrashed a tempo driver on Sunday.

Earlier, a video of a brawl between the tempo driver and policemen went viral on social media.

Following the incident, a series of videos were circulated. While one showed the tempo driver, Sarabjeet Singh, brandishing a sword to a policeman, the other showed policemen mercilessly thrashing Singh and his son.

The police on Monday said that the brawl started after the tempo driver's vehicle collided with a police van.

Man held for supplying illegal guns in Delhi
         New Delhi, Jun 17 (PTI) A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly supplying illegal guns in the national capital after procuring them from Rajasthan, police said Monday.
         The accused was identified as Sunny, a resident of Sagarpur, they said.
         According to a senior police officer, they received information that Sunny would come at Sector-16 in Dwarka on Saturday with a consignment of illegal arms.
         "A trap was laid and the accused was arrested while he was trying to flee the spot," AK Singla, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
         During interrogation, it was revealed that Sunny was a "bad character" of Sagarpur Police Station. He used to purchase sophisticated or country-made pistols from Mewat region of Rajasthan for supplying in Delhi, they said.
         Three country-made pistols and one car were recovered from his possession, they added. PTI NIT
