Gwalior: Authorities, in presence of the Gwalior Police on Monday dug the grave of Bishop Mar Thomas Thenatt of the Gwalior archdiocese who passed away after he met with an accident on December 14, last year.
The investigation took one step further after a petition was filed by a woman named Dolly Thomas at the court alleging that the Bishop was murdered.
Buried around six months ago, the court then directed the Bishop's grave to be dug and ordered the body to be sent for a post mortem.
The petitioner, Thomas mentioned that although the Bishop's car met with an accident, the driver escaped unhurt while the Bishop died.
In order to draw a clearer picture, Thomas had filed a petition at the court.
Further, after the post mortem doctors would present a report which would probably reveal the reason behind the high priest's death.
The Bishop belonged to the Kottayam Archdiocese and was a parishioner at the St Joseph Church of Ettumanoor.
He was the first prelate from the Society of the Catholic Apostolate to become a bishop in India.
