Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): A Madarsa student was allegedly harassed and looted by some miscreants while he was returning home in Aligarh-Bareilly passenger train on June 18.
The issue came into the limelight after former president of Aligarh Muslim University Students Union (AMUSU) Faizul Hasan, posted a video of victim explaining his ordeal.
"Mujiburrehman informed us that some youth harassed him near Rajghat station while he was travelling in Bareilly passenger train on June 18. Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged in the Jawan police station against unknown people. The police have started the investigation with the help of Government Railway Police," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akash Kulhari told ETV Bharat.
Reportedly, the perpetrators started harassing him, threw his skull cap and then made him smell something after which he lost consciousness. Later, he woke up at a different place and realized that his money and mobile phone were missing.
Mujiburrehman said, "I was going to the madrassa on June 18. I purchased a train ticket for Bareilly. Some boys harassed me and thrown my skull cap. They also beat me."
"My son told me that 8-10 boys boarded the train and snatched my skull cap. Then they started beating him. They made him smell something after which Mujiburrehman got unconscious. His phone and money were also looted," said Mujahir Hussain, father of Mujiburrehman.
