Medha Patkar, a well known social activist, was also present in the gathering.
In conversation with ETV Bharat, she said, "This time, the Congress manifesto has come up after having discussions with many organizations. So, it is a social document and we welcome it. We will write about the drawbacks and explain our role in the case for publicity."

Comparing the Communist Party of India's manifesto with the Congress, she said that communist parties will get the votes only if they implement their manifesto in the places where they are in power.
She further said, "Every mass organisation has its own politics, which needs to be maintained."
