Hamirpur: A 14-year-old boy in Pratap Gali area of Hamirpur district ended his life by hanging after his parents allegedly shunned his demand for Maggi noodles.
In a statement given to the Police, the child's parents said that on Sunday night, around 9.30 pm, their son Gurpreet Singh demanded Maggi noodles, but they told him to go to sleep after promising that they will cook for him in the morning.
After which Gurpreet shut himself in the room. When he did not open the door for a long time, his parents broke the door and found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan.
Gurpreet Singh was a student of class IX in Boys' School, Hamirpur. His native place was Hoshiarpur of Punjab.
Meanwhile, the Police have done a post mortem on the dead body and handed over the body to the family.
SP Ajeet Sen Thakur said, "the main reasons for the death could not be ascertained. We have registered a case and started the investigation.
