New Delhi: Kaushal Kishore, a BJP MP from UP's Mohanlalganj constituency, was on Wednesday sworn in as a Union Minister in the Narendra Modi government. The 61-year-old has been appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Kaushal Kishore said, "Being the minister in Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, I'll try to fulfil PM Modi's dream to provide house to every Indian by 2022, the 75th year of Independence."

Similarly, the dream of PM Modi to construct toilets in each and every village will be completed soon. Due to all such schemes, the attraction of people in Uttar Pradesh is towards BJP only," he added.
A day after Kishore lost his elder brother to Covid-19 in April, he had written a letter to UP CM Yogi Adityanath and raised concern over the state of affairs at two government hospitals in Lucknow. When Kishore was asked about Yogi Adityanath's working during the pandemic, he said, "the oxygen manufacturers were not supplying oxygen equally to the needy ones. CM Yogi took cognizance of the matter and ordered to construct 300 oxygen plants across Uttar Pradesh."

On being asked about his reaction over AIMIM's decision to contest in 100 constituencies of UP, Kishore said AIMIM is trying for polarisation politics in UP but they wouldn't be successful. BJP works for all without any religious bias.
Kaushal Kishore had served as a minister in Uttar Pradesh from 2003-04, during the Samajwadi Party government. He is a two-time Member of Parliament from Mohanlalganj and was recently appointed as the state chief of BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha in UP.
