United Nations: Addressing the 76th UN General Assembly session Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that when India reforms the world transforms while referring to the development initiatives taken in India over the last seven years.

“Inspired by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji's philosophy of 'Antyodaya', India is moving ahead and ensuring integrated and equitable development for all,” Modi said. “Development should be all-inclusive, all-nutritive, all-touching, all-pervasive. This is our priority.”

“Today, every sixth person in the world is an Indian. When Indians make progress, it also gives an impetus to the development of the world. When India grows, the world grows. When India reforms, the world transforms,” he asserted. “The science and technology-based innovations taking place in India can make a big contribution to the world. The scalability of our tech solutions, and their cost effectiveness are both unparalleled. Over 3.5 billion transactions are taking place every month in India through the unified payment interface (UPI).”

Highlighting India's role in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, he said that despite limited resources, the country wholeheartedly got engaged in vaccine development and manufacturing.

“I want to inform the UNGA that in India we have developed the world's first DNA-based vaccine that can be administered to all people above 12 years of age,” he said. “I invite all vaccine makers in the world to come to India and manufacture in India.”

Understanding its responsibility towards humanity, Modi said that India has once again started sending vaccines to the needy all over the world.

“Today I am inviting manufacturers across the world. Come, make vaccine in India,” he said.

He said that the coronavirus pandemic has also taught the world the lesson that the global economy should be further diversified.

“For this, it is necessary to expand the global value chains. Atmanirbhar Bharat is inspired by this thought,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister said that the Atmanibhar Bharat campaign has established a better balance between economy and ecology.

“You will definitely be proud to see India's efforts on climate action as compared to large and developed countries,” ghe said. “India is moving towards the goal of 450 GW of renewable energy. We are also engaged in the campaign to make India the world's largest green hydrogen hub.”

He said that, in the last seven years, over 430 million people in India have been linked with the banking system and over 360 million have also got insurance cover.

“Over 500 million people have received free treatment in hospitals giving them access to quality healthcare. India has made homeless families home-owners by building 30 million concrete houses,” he stated.

Highlighting that polluted water is a big problem not only in India, but in the whole world and especially in poor and developing countries, he said that to tackle this challenge, a huge campaign is being run in India to provide piped clean water to more than 170 million households.

The Prime Minister said that for the development of any country, it is very important for its citizens to have property rights of land and house or a record of ownership. However, in the big countries of the world, he said, there are a large number of people who do not have property rights of land and houses.

“Today we are engaged in providing digital records of their homes and land to millions of people by mapping them with drones in more than 600,000 villages of India. Besides reducing property disputes, this digital record is giving people to access to credit and bank loans,” he stated.
