Union Cabinet reshuffle to take place on July 8

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place on 8th July, sources said. Speculations are rife among political circles about a possible reshuffle in the Union Cabinet later this week, which is the first in the second term of the Narendra Modi government. As the Cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place in a couple of days, all the BJP MPs have been summoned to the national capital at the earliest. However, there is no official information regarding the time when the Cabinet reshuffle would be held.

Meanwhile, BJP chief JP Nadda, who is on a two-day visit to Himachal, is slated to returning to New Delhi on Tuesday evening. On the other hand, calls were also made to several party leaders who are to be inducted into the Cabinet, to reach Delhi. Even Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is likely to be inducted into the Modi cabinet, has cut short his visit to Indore in Madhya Pradesh and will reach the national capital.

Recently, Uttarakhand former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat met the PM as well. Several positions in the Cabinet are vacant due to the exit of Shiv Sena and Shiromani Akali Dal and the demise of Ramvilas Paswan of Jan Lokshakti Party.

Party sources had earlier stated that leaders from several key states like Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are also expected to be accommodated in the expansion as the BJP aims to expand in these states in the future.
