Citizens can drive into the facility in Ghaziabad and get vaccinated by just rolling down their windows. Once the dose is administered, the person has to spend a mandatory 30-minute period in a dedicated waiting area under the observation of healthcare professionals.

New Delhi: United by Blood, an initiative by IAS officer Abhishek Singh, launched a drive-through vaccination facility for 45+ citizens. UBB has been at the forefront of Covid relief efforts during the second wave with its free oxygen doorstep delivery and plasma donation.

The vaccination drive at the World Square Mall in Ghaziabad will vaccinate those above the age of 45, Singh said.

"We recognize immediate and widespread vaccination as a prong in the two-pronged strategy to help with the current situation, the other being community participation in revamping healthcare infrastructure", he added.

“To speed up the vaccination process we must infuse innovation and technology to provide comfort, convenience and safety for the citizens. With drive-through vaccination facilities across malls and corporate parks, we aim to achieve all of them", Singh said.

For the convenience of citizens, United by Blood will be giving a real-time live feed on the number of doses available and the number of cars in the queue, so that they can plan their drive-in accordingly. Since all people will be in their cars, social distancing norms will automatically be in place.

We are happy that the District Administration in Ghaziabad has accepted our proposal and has extended support. In the coming week, we are opening similar facilities across Delhi, Gurugram, Lucknow and other cities, Singh said.

"We are very keen to help city authorities and municipal corporations in vaccination of all citizens", says Abhishek Singh.
