Srinagar: The wreath-laying ceremony of a sub-inspector of the Border Security force (BSF), who was killed during a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, was performed at the Frontier headquarters on Wednesday.
The BSF sub-inspector, identified as Paotinsat Guite, was a resident of Maphou Kuki village in Manipur. He was deployed at FDL of BSF in the Rajouri sector under the Poonch district.
The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by dignitaries of the BSF officials at War Memorial, Frontier HQ Paloura Camp Jammu and rich tributes poured in for the brave soldier.

Guite lost his life while retaliating to the enemy fire but also saved the lives of many colleagues.
IG BSF NS Jamwal said, "BSF has a history of producing brave and gallant men who always remain committed to ensuring the sanctity of International Border and Line of control by endangering their lives. This brave act has once again proved that border men are always ready to sacrifice their lives when the question of national security comes up."
He also ensured that all benefits applicable to him will be given to NOK of the martyr in a fast track manner.
The mortal remains of the jawan will be sent to Imphal after which it will be sent to his native place in Manipur. The last rites of the soldier will be performed with full state honors.
