Nitish, a key ally of BJP in the Hindi belt and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has sought probe into the Pegaus snooping row which has virtually brought the Parliament to a standstill during the ongoing monsoon session. Opposition parties have been pressing on Pegasus row, farm laws, Covid crisis since the commencement of the Monsoon Session.

Rajya Sabha passed the Inland Vessels Bill, 2021 amid the Opposition's ruckus. The House was adjourned for the day after introducing Appropriations No 4 and No 3 Bills 2021.

3. Zika virus: Centre rushes high-level team to Maharashtra

The Union Health Ministry has rushed a multi-disciplinary team to Maharashtra to monitor the Zika virus situation and support the state government in the management of cases. A case of Zika virus has been reported in Pune district recently.

4. Maharashtra: Clash breaks out between police & BJP workers in Sangli

A clash broke out between police and BJP workers in the Sangli district of Maharashtra. The incident took place after traders and BJP workers tried to stop Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's convoy at Harbat Road to make a statement to him. The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit the flood-affected areas of Sangli on Monday.

3. 11-month-old dies, even after parents spent Rs 16 crore on SMA treatment in Maharashtra

Eleven-month-old baby, Vedika, who was suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and was administered Rs 16 crore injection - Zolgensma, a gene therapy medication to treat SMA, passed away on Sunday evening. She was administered with the injection in June.

4. Raj Kundra pornography case: Shilpa Shetty breaks silence, says 'don't deserve media trial'

Actor Shilpa Shetty on Monday issued a statement in the ongoing porn films case involving husband Raj Kundra's arrest and requested people to respect their privacy, especially that of her children. Kundra, 45, was arrested by the crime branch on July 19, in a case, which it said related to alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
