Patna: The first death anniversary of late Ram Vilas Paswan, which falls October 8 this year, will be observed at his official residence, 12 Janpath, in New Delhi. However, following the split in the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), the the first anniversary of Paswan will be observed September 12 by the Chirag faction at his Srikrishnapuri residence in Patna.
An invitation card for the September 12 event has been printed in the name of LJP national president and MP Chirag Paswan. At the same time, he has included the names of his uncle, the younger brother of Paswan and Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, Krishna Raj, MP Prince Raj, Yash Raj and the entire Paswan family.
Following the split in the LJP, Chirag Paswan and his uncle have not been able to stand each other and both have had harsh words for each other. However, it was important to have the names of all family members on the anniversary card. Many political experts say that this exercise by Chirag Paswan might be an attempt to unite the family.

It may be mentioned that in an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat sometime back, Pashupati Kumar Paras had said that even if the sun rises in the west, the uncle and nephew cannot come together. Reversing his statement two days ago, in another conversation with ETV Bharat, Pashupati Paras said if Chirag Paswan corrects his mistakes, the possibility of the two factions uniting can be considered. Such statements seem to be indicating that the family is growing closer again.
For the September 12 event, people, including district presidents and workers, have been invited at 1 pm. According to sources, Chirag Paswan wants to draw sympathy from the public for his father's death.
Chirag Paswan currently lives in the residence allotted in the name of Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi. Though he has been asked to vacate the 12 Janpath bungalow, he wants to stay there till the first death anniversary of Ram Vilas Paswan October 8. He has also installed a statue of his father in the residence. Ram Vilas Paswan died October 8, 2020.
