Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president L Ramana has resigned from his post and the party as well on Friday. He tendered his resignation to TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu and conveyed his decision to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party.
Ramana is expected to join the K. Chandrashekar Rao-led party in the next three days, sources said . During a press meet on Thursday, he announced his decision to join the TRS.
Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the Minister of State for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply in Telangana, and a member of the TRS, is believed to have played a key role in getting Ramana on board.
According to sources, Rao arranged a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister KCR and Ramana, during which the latter was assured of a plum position in the party,
