Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Nalini, who has been serving sentence in connection with the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, donated Rs 5,000 towards COVID relief work.
As the second wave of COVID-19 intensified in the state, Chief Minister MK Stalin had appealed to the people to reach out.

Nalini, who has been lodged in the Vellore Central Jail for more than 29 years, on Tuesday sent Rs 5,000 to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund through the Superintendent of Prisons.
On May 15, another convict in the case, Ravichandran, had donated Rs 5,000 to the CM Public Relief Fund through his lawyer Thirumurugan. Ravichandran had in the past contributed Rs 20,000 to the Tamil Chair at Harvard University and Rs 5,000 to Cyclone Gaja relief fund.
Apart from the general public, actors Rajinikanth, Ajith, Sivakumar and his sons Surya and Karti, film director A R Murugadoss, Shankar and the AIADMK party have donated Rs 1 crore each to the fund.
